Carrie Greenwood

What is your current job?
Archive Assistant at Hagströmer Bibliotek (Karolinska Institutet)
How long did it take you to find it?
1 year
What do you like best about your job?
Very unexpected to find a career related job that I could apply for without speaking Swedish yet and really really happy to be working in my field again!
What is it about your job that you are passionate about?
I’m passionate about preserving and caring for historical objects and making them accessible and interesting to others. I love that I learn fascinating new things every day!
“SDCN helped me when I’d really felt like giving up.”
Did SDCN help you in your job search?
SDCN helped me when I’d really felt like giving up. I totally revamped my CV after getting advice during career group and I got the interview after that. I then booked a guidance hour with SDCN which was really helpful to prepare for my first proper interview in Sweden.
“Also don’t give up! I really had and then suddenly everything started to work out.”
Advice to other members looking for work in Stockholm:
The one thing no one wants to hear but very important is to still learn Swedish as fast as possible. But other than that, use the career advice available, work on swedifying your cv and application letters and create a linked in profile. Also don’t give up! I really had and then suddenly everything started to work out.
