Engaging online LinkedIn workshop with our affiliate Trucaller

This week, Truecaller, one of SDCN’s affiliated organizations, hosted an online LinkedIn workshop which saw great participation. Aorui Pu, the speaker, established the importance of LinkedIn for job searching and various other ancillary purposes, and gave SDCN members an in-depth view into the process of searching for candidates based on their profiles, from a recruiter’s point of view.

Aorui discussed each section of the LinkedIn profile and underlined the different aspects to keep in mind to present a favorable impression which would catch a recruiter’s attention within a short span of time. So, we talked about the kind of profile photo we should have, how to draft an optimized headline and a compelling summary, what to focus on while detailing our work experiences, how to tweak settings and use pertinent filters on LinkedIn, how to ‘read’ a job advertisement, and the importance of adding relevant skills, endorsements and volunteer experiences.

The session capped off with a lively Q&A section where Aorui answered various queries that our members had.

We would like to thank Truecaller and Aorui Pu for putting together this engaging workshop. And to our members – you can work on revamping your LinkedIn profiles at our weekly Career Support Group! Sign up in the Event calendar to join the next one. See you soon!
