Theodosis Evgenikos Vlachos

  • What is your current job in Stockholm?

Open space assistant at SUP46.

  • How long did it take you to find this job?

Three months.

  • What do you like best about your job?

My colleagues, the environment, interaction with people, the feeling of community.

“Keep networking! Also, keep your mind open. There are many jobs (and internships) out there to work for startups and they can lead you to the next step!”

  • What is it about your job that you are passionate about?

I work for a start-up hub so I feel that with my work I play a little part in making people’s dreams come true.

  • Did SDCN help you in your job search? How?

Marina, without knowing it, motivated me to start looking for a job in Stockholm again after a negative experience I had in September 2018.

  • What advice would you give to other SDCN members looking for employment in Stockholm?

Prioritize learning Swedish! I am pretty sure a lot of times my resume was not even considered because I do not speak Swedish. Regardless, keep networking! In the end, even without Swedish, I found this job through my boyfriend who networks like crazy. I try to do it more and more too. Also, keep your mind open. Stockholm is the second most important city, after Silicon Valley, when it comes to startups. There are many jobs (and internships) out there to work for startups…they might not pay much (or at all) but they can be rewarding like no other job and they can lead you to the next step!
