Chinese New Year Celebration

Chinese New Year Celebration

On February 5th we held a special event to celebrate the Chinese New Year with our SDCN members.

We had Chinese themed decorations at STAF and our members enjoyed Chinese jasmine tea along with dumplings and other godis.

The event started with a presentation of the Spring Festival, what it is, its origins and its association with several myths and customs. Members also had the opportunity to learn about the traditions celebrated throughout this day as well as about the Chinese Zodiac signs. We would like to extend a special thanks to David Chen, member of the Events Team at SDCN, for putting together and giving this presentation.

SDCN and their family members also had the chance to compete in a chopsticks competition, and work on their calligraphy and paper cutting.

A big thank you to our members who came to celebrate with us!
