Online Conversational Swedish – Small talk

Are you just starting to learn Swedish? Are you already attending Swedish classes but could do with some more practice?

If your answer is yes to any of the above, then our Conversational Swedish sessions are exactly what you need! These sessions are for SDCN members, and are administered by capable language coaches from Swedish for Professionals. This is an engaging experience that promises to get you talking!

For most expatriates in Sweden, learning Swedish is often a gateway to better professional opportunities. But being able to talk in Swedish also results in a more immersive experience, whereby it’s easier for you to integrate in the society and get an authentic feel of the land. While learning Swedish as an academic vocation might not be a priority for everyone, being able to communicate in the language is certainly helpful, both on professional and social fronts.

What to expect from a Conversational Swedish session?

The Conversational Swedish session is a place to meet and learn the language by talking, listening and practising, with the help of our excellent language coaches from Swedish for Professionals. The language coaches give you all the support you need to speak, in terms of resources, quick tips and continuous monitoring. You learn Swedish through group activities, quizzes, online and offline games, songs, videos and other fun methods – never a dull moment, as you can imagine!

The Conversational Swedish session is held every Thursday at 13.00–14.30. Due to the current recommendations of social distancing, we offer the session both online via Google Hangouts and offline at the Stockholm Academic Forum office, on alternate weeks. Places for the offline group are limited.

So, come join us for the session every Thursday! It doesn’t matter if you haven’t been to any previous session – this week can be your first time! If you are a regular attendee, you already know how awesome these sessions are, so just keep dropping in. You are welcome irrespective of your level of proficiency in Swedish, as you acquire the language through plenty of practice or hone your skills through conversations.

This week’s Conversational Swedish will be held online.
