The Path of Inwardness

Relocating to a new country as an expat partner, you might face many challenges (personal, professional, etc.) with ups and downs. Sometimes you might feel depressed, overwhelmed, or discouraged. Sometimes you might also feel lost and don’t even know what to do in your life. This presentation, based on existentialism’s philosophical approach can help you see things from a different perspective. And whatever your religion or your convictions, you are very welcome to join.

About the content:

A human being can ask the existential question: how should I live? The Danish philosopher Soren Kierkegaard (1813 – 1855) posed this question in his Diary on the 1st August 1835. He spent the rest of his life writing 40 books on human existential striving. The presentation offers some insights into an existential way of life.

About the speaker:

Ted Harris, born 1952 in Barbados, is a priest in the Church of Sweden and a member of TSSF (Third order of the Society of St. Francis). He studies human subjectivity with a stress on Soren Kierkegaard’s theory of inwardness. Ted Harris has written The art of inward living (2008) together with Ann Lagerström, Living a wholehearted life (2013) together with Carolina Johansson and Human Flourishing (2016).
