Excursion to Vaxholm

Explore the Stockholm Archipelago with SDCN!

Known as the Capital of the Archipelago, Vaxholm is an idyllic island with many well-preserved wooden houses from the turn of the last century painted in the archipelago’s typical delicate pastel tones. There are numerous charming restaurants, cafés, and shops, as well as a fortress built by King Gustav Vasa. A lovely trip to enjoy the best spring in Stockholm has to offer!

Let’s grab a coffee and map at Staf’s office and take the bus to Vaxholm together! Partners and children are welcomed!

Trip details

Meeting point: Staf office (Valhallavägen) at 10.00 a.m.

Transport: 

• To Vaxholm : SL bus – if you have a monthly SL card, that will be no additional cost
• Back to Stockholm: We recommend to take the Waxholmsbolaget ferry (https://waxholmsbolaget.se), which will take us back to Strömkajen in front of the Grand Hotel downtown. The cost is 79kr which you will pay by Visa/MasterCard onboard or with credit in your SL card. We suggest to take 15:15 which be a 55min trip back with a wonderful view! Or you can also take the SL bus back.

Lunch: We would suggest to bring your own for a lovely picnic together. Alternatively there are restaurant suggestions from a fellow SDCN member who lives on Vaxholm. We shall decide then!
