Fettisdagen, aka ‘Fat Tuesday’, Semla Day Fika

The last symbolic feast before the month-long fasting for Lent starts, is celebrated with delicious food across the world and is known by various names. In Sweden, this day is called Fettisdagen or simply ‘Fat Tuesday’. Swedes, on Fettisdagen, loosen their belts and stuff their faces with ridiculous amounts of semla buns!

In the spirit of this day-long celebration of gluttony, join us in indulging your sweet tooth for this semla-centric fika! Feel free to bring your own homemade or store-bought treat to our remote gathering and test your knowledge of this beloved Swedish pastry with a semla-themed trivia game! :-)

The quiz will be hosted by both Mei Li and Melis of the SDCN Management Team and take approximately an hour. All you need is an internet connection and Zoom – and we’ll send the link to the session to all the registered participants prior to the event start.

This event will be held online on Zoom. Please register no later than 16 February (10:00). A link to the Zoom meeting will be sent to your email before the event starts (remember to check your spam folder if you haven’t received it).
